Hotel Review - DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit [King Premium Room]

DoubleTree by Hilton Ploenchit is a part of Hilton Hotel. Hilton Honors member can get benefits based on your status.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit is rebranded from The Majestic Grand Hotel in 2019. This hotel is newly renovated and expected to complete within 2022. Lobby and all hotel facilities are completely renovated and open to welcome guests. Only some high-end room type (Executive Suites and President Suites) are in-progress. You don't have to worry about noise from renovation. I can say that there is no noise or smell into my room or within hotel during my 3 stays.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit is located in Sukhumvit Soi 4. You can access by:

BTS - The nearest station is "Ploenchit Station". Distance from station to hotel is approximately 450m. If you are backpacker, it is okay for walking. But in case you have large luggage, I would suggest to avoid this option.

Public Car - From Sukhumvit road, you have to turn left into Sukhumvit Soi 4. It is a 2-lanes road, drive carefully. 200m from the main road, hotel is on your left hand. There is a free hotel-parking area.

Location is not the best as it has to walk 200m from main street. But good thing is there is no noise from main street. Nearly has conveniet stores (Lawson108 and Villa Market) and you can easily get to many good restaurants within the walk distance.

Hotel Parking is free of charge. There is no car parking card and no need to get e-stamp or any signature to get your car in and out. Hotel's car parking area is on 2nd - 4th floor. As of August 2022, There is no EV charger here.

As car parking is in the same building of lobby and guest room, you can directly get the elevator to lobby or your room. It is better than other hotel that I have to get my lugguage to lobby, change to guest elevator and get up to my room.

Warm welcome chocolate chips cookie is the signature of DoubleTree hotel. You will get delicious cookies even your are not elite member of Hilton Honors.

Check-in area is on ground floor (This hotel your "L floor" in the elevator). I like that lobby has a high ceiling and use floor-to-ceiling windows to let a natural sun light pass through. There are 4 counters at reception. Only 5 minutes, check-in was completed. My Diamond Elite is recognized and benefits are clearly explain. Good Job!.

As Hilton Honors Diamond Elite, I get all perks from hotels without asking any word.

I got an upgrade from King Guest Room which is the beginning room type to King Premium Room. It is a 2-steps upgrade.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit has no executive lounge. Hilton Honors Diamond Elite will get 2 drink vouchers per day. This voucher can redeem for both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage at "Open Bar". In case you stay multiple nights here, you can use multiple drink vouchers within the same time. There is no need to use it daily.

I was upgraded to King Premium Room for all of my 3 stays. This room type is larger than King Guest Room, located on high floor and has bathtub.

King Premium Room

King Premium Room'size is 35-40 square meters, depend on each room. Layout of each rooms are different, you have to choose wisely.

I have stayed in 2201, 1702 and 1715. All rooms have different layout and space. My favourite is 1715.
2201 - room is huge but layout is weird. View from window is blocked. Avoid this room.
1702 - good layout. Ceiling to floor window. View from window is an under construction building.
1715 - good layout. Ceiling to floor window. Smaller bath area but largest bed room area. View from window is open.

Layout of 17th floor. King Premium Room is 1701 to 1704 and 1715. My favourite is 1715 and 1702, pre-choose this room while you do a mobile check-in.
Ths room is "1702".

This is the first area after open the door. Small fridge and complimentary drinks.

I'm not a fan of Dilmah and Nescafe. Glasses and mugs are pre-set here.

Here is bathroom. Good layout for this room. I liked window that let the natural light in. Water temperature is stable here, good!.

Good light decoration here. Dental kit and shave kit are not set here. You have to reuqest from staffs (no additional charge).

Bath amenities are Crabtree & Evelyn in small portion, 2 set per day. Room temperature here is very stable. Water quality is clear, no dirt or rustic.

Another dimension looking from window. There is small sofa for 2 adults here. Weird thing is sofa is not for watching TV haha.

I like floor-to-ceiling window. Bad thing is view from window is an under construction building.
Working table is in the circle shape. Nearly has 2 plugs for charging.
